FAQ

  1. What is RC Snare?

RC Snare is an audio plugin designed specifically for mixing recorded acoustic snare drums. It combines transient shaping, adaptive frequency processing, resonance control, parallel compression and harmonic enhancement in one plugin.

  2. What is RC Ring?

RC Ring is a free audio plugin that automatically detects the ringing overtones of a recorded snare drum and lets you increase or decrease their level.

  3. Does RC Snare replace drum samples?

No. RC Snare processes the original recorded snare drum and does not use sample replacement.

  4. Which operating systems, DAWs, and plugin formats are supported?

RC MIX plugins are compatible with Windows 11 and macOS 12 and later. They support Intel- and Apple Silicon-powered Macs, as well as AU, VST3, and AAX formats for compatibility with Logic Pro, Ableton Live, Pro Tools, Cubase, GarageBand, Reaper, and more.

  5. Is there a free trial, and does it have any limitations?

RC Snare does not have a free trial, but RC Ring is completely free and gives you a sense of the power of the RC Snare tool. Both licenses are perpetual and do not require a subscription.

  6. How do I download, install, and activate the plugins?

RC SNARE can be downloaded here and RC RING can be downloaded here. Once downloaded, open your DAW, open the RC MIX plugin, and click on the “UNLICENSED” button inside the RC MIX plugin. From there, you will be able to register your license.

  7. How many computers can I use my license on?

RC MIX plugins can be installed on up to 2 computers per license.

  8. Where should RC Snare and RC Ring be placed in my signal chain?

That is completely up to you, but we generally recommend that they be placed at the top of the signal chain as the first plugin.

  9. Do the plugins add latency or cause phase issues?

RC MIX plugins are inherently low-latency, with only 6 samples of latency. Most modern DAWs automatically compensate for this small amount of latency. RC MIX plugins do not impart any unique phase issues into the signal path beyond what normal EQ or compression would.

  10. Are updates included with my purchase?

Yes. As perpetual licenses, we will continue to provide updates as often as possible.

  11. What are the system requirements for RC MIX plugins?

macOS 12+ (Apple Silicon & Intel) AU, VST3 & AAX - Compatible with macOS 27 Golden Gate
Logic Pro, GarageBand, Ableton Live, Cubase, Pro Tools etc.

    Windows 11+ VST3 & AAX
